How UFC odds work: plus and minus lines explained
Basic idea of UFC betting odds
Most international sportsbooks use American style odds for UFC fights. The favorite usually has a minus number, while the underdog has a plus number.
What minus odds mean
If a fighter is listed at for example minus 200, it means you would have to bet 200 units to win 100 units of profit. The bigger the minus number, the bigger the favorite.
What plus odds mean
If a fighter is listed at plus 200, it means that a bet of 100 units would win 200 units of profit. The bigger the plus number, the bigger the underdog.
Implied probability
Odds also represent a rough percentage chance. Heavy favorites are expected to win most of the time, but upsets happen in MMA and that is why many fans like to bet on underdogs.
Responsible betting
Always treat MMA betting as entertainment, set limits and never bet money that you cannot afford to lose.
