Dana White says UFC White House matchmaking will start soon

The UFC White House card is no longer just an idea being discussed in interviews. With logistics now in place for a historic outdoor show in June, Dana White says the next step is approaching: building the actual fight card.

Logistics are set, matchmaking is next

According to White, the plan is for an outdoor event on the South Lawn of the White House with approximately 5,000 people in attendance. While the show has been talked about for months, the UFC has not yet finalized matchups, largely due to the timing of other upcoming events that still need to be completed and confirmed.

White explained that once he gets through key obligations later this month, he expects to shift his focus directly to the White House lineup. In practical terms, that means the matchmaking process is about to start.

Fighters want in, but nothing is booked yet

The moment the White House card became public conversation, interest exploded. White has suggested that nearly every fighter on the roster has asked to compete on that event. The scale and symbolism of the location, combined with the unique atmosphere of an outdoor show, make it one of the most desirable spots of the year.

Even so, there are still no confirmed fights for the card at this stage, and the UFC has not publicly committed to specific matchups.

Speculation includes title fights and major names

As anticipation grows, speculation has naturally followed. Lead commentator Jon Anik has floated the idea that the card could feature multiple title fights, especially with several champions not yet booked for the first half of the year.

Conor McGregor has also repeatedly framed his planned return around competing at the White House event. He has been linked to a fight with Michael Chandler, but the UFC has not officially confirmed either man for the card.

Other title fights are already scheduled elsewhere

So far, several major championship and headline fights have been announced for upcoming UFC events, which will influence how the White House card is built. With some belts already tied to other pay per views, the UFC still has multiple champions available if it chooses to load the White House show with title bouts.

Why the White House card is happening

White has said the event is happening because President Donald Trump is a UFC fan and has supported the idea of staging a card at the White House. White compared that support to other presidents being closely associated with specific sports, describing it as a unique moment for the UFC and its place in American sports culture.
